Over two million bricks and one million blocks created the largest Islamic centre in Western Europe. Built using traditional methods, it uses a load bearing masonry design incorporating brick vaulted ceilings, skewed arches and brick domes supported on masonry walls and columns that are, in places, more than one metre thick.
